YOUTH PROGRAM 2019-2020

Once again, the Nubian Empire Ski Club is offering a Snow Sport Development Program for our Youth and Adults. The Youth program is open to youth ages 5 to 18 years of age (college students, 21yrs). Through this program, youth will be introduced to the sport of skiing and snowboarding through participation in a series of lessons at a local ski areas (West Mountain), at reduced rates for youth members.

To make the program affordable for families, the NESC subsidizes a portion of the total cost. To register for the program your youth must be a paid member. The program cost per child is $135(w/o rentals)/ $210(w/rentals). This covers the cost of a minimum of three ski/snowboard  Development Days, (without transportation). Each additional lesson after the first 3, will be $45/$70 per child, payable in advance. Included in this price is a 1.5 hr group lesson,  lift ticket and equipment rental (if needed). A helmet is also required. If you do not wish to purchase a helmet, one can be rented from the Mountain. The club also has several youth helmets that may be borrowed. Please contact Omoye Cooper to determine if we have any helmets available.

Adults may also take lessons and/or participate in a learn to ski/snowboard program; at a discounted rate. If you have never skied or snowboard or haven't been on the mountain for a while, you may participate in the Ski 3 program at a very reasonable price. This includes 3 lesson, equipment rental and lift tickets. However, to take advantage of the program, adults and youth  must  be a paid member of the NESC. 

West Mountain is just a short drive from the Capital Region and Southwestern Vermont. The following link provides travel directions from various locations within the Capital District. The program does not provide transportation.  Parents/guardians should  be prepared to transport your youth to the mountain. Dates for Development Days will be posted in the near future. 

The Youth Membership Fee is only $15 and may be paid online using PayPal https://www.nubianempireski.org/apps/webstore/  Also check out our discount Family Membership fee.  The registration fee and additional lessons may also be paid online. Registration fee is non-refundable. The Youth Program Application and Liability Waiver may be printed from our website. Both documents must be signed, dated and returned before participation in the program will be allowed.
